Arcadia is a family run business, Mum, Dad and daughter. The shop has been continually operating as a sweetshop, in the market town of Bedford for over 100 years and the basic layout has hardly changed over that time.

Many of our customers remember coming into the shop as small children, and it is especially nice to see this kind of continuity. Hopefully we nurture this through the many children we serve, whether it is with pick ‘n mix or the more traditional favourites from our many jars

New customers are amazed at our comprehensive range, and thrilled when they find they can still buy their childhood favourites. We are constantly told “It's like stepping back in time” when people come into our shop.

While we are constantly endeavouring to seek out new products, we are very aware of our customers tastes and never compromise on the originality and quality of our range. We are especially proud of our range of handmade chocolates and good quality bars of chocolate.
